UWC Poland follows a thorough and well-rounded selection process to identify motivated and talented young individuals who align with UWC’s values and mission.
Before starting your application, we suggest you:

You’ll then be ready to start your UWC journey!
1. Application stage
The first step in the selection process is submitting a written application. This includes:
- Completing an online application form with personal details, academic background, extracurricular activities, achievements, and motivations for applying to UWC.
- Submitting essays and short responses to demonstrate critical thinking and commitment to UWC values.
Written applications are checked by a panel of alumni. Applications with the highest holistic scores will be moved on to the second step in the selection process. This includes:
- Recording a short video in response to a prompt shared with candidates who advanced from the first to the second step of the selection process.
2. Selection stage
Based on written and video application components, candidates will be invited to participate in an in-person selection process in Warsaw, which typically includes:
- Group Activities: Candidates engage in collaborative problem-solving tasks and discussions to assess teamwork, leadership, and adaptability.
- Individual Interviews: Panel interviews with UWC alumni and external interviewers, such as educators, in which applicants discuss their motivations, aspirations, and alignment with UWC’s values.
3. Nomination stage
After selections, the National Committee nominates the most promising candidates for placement at UWC schools and colleges. Successful applicants will:
- Receive an offer for a UWC placement, which may be fully or partially funded with a scholarship depending on demonstrated need (all applicants will be requested to submit financial information to this effect during the in-person stage of the selection process).
- Have the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination.
- Complete necessary paperwork and preparations for enrollment in close contact with parents or legal guardians.
Important dates
- Application portal opens: 28 August 2025
- Written application submission deadline: 11 October 2025
- Second step of the application stage (video): November, exact dates to be communicated after written applications are evaluated
- In-person selection activities: 20-21 December 2025
- Final Decisions Announced: late December through January, typically within two weeks of the in-person stage concluding
